superwhisper's model picker is the deepest in this category — several Whisper variants plus Parakeet, selectable per your accuracy/speed tradeoff, all documented. It also has a clean recovery pattern: right-click any history entry and "Process Again" re-runs transcription with your current settings, without needing to re-record.

OpenWispr currently ships one right-sized on-device model rather than a picker, and its own retry-on-failure flow is still in active development, not shipped. If per-recording model switching or mature failure recovery matters most to you today, superwhisper covers both better right now.
